Kiel, you won't know where that is
I am about to "create" a new machine

But i am not sure what mainboard i should use for overclocking

I know the abit is said to be the best one, but as far as i have heard abit boards sometimes have stability problems.

Anyways which mainboard would you consider to be best vor overclocking besides the abit board.

So please post your favourite mobo for overclocking

Thx for the help i really don't know which one to buy

I highly recommend any of these Abit boards:

KV7 -- (just released) KT600 based board with a few extras (sound, 10/100 lan, usb 2, sata raid) should be good well over 200 (400) fsb.

AT7-max2 -- Everything board... might not make 200 (400) fsb.

NF7-S v2 -- considered to be the best overclocking board out there right now for the Athlon (I hate to say this because I dislike nVidia as a company).

I don't think the Abit boards are unstable, its some of the really high end OVERCLOCKERS who are unstable. :D

Wait a few days for the Abit announcment mentioned on this page...

I know the following link is an Intel based MAX3 board, but the features look promising when the AMD version comes along...

i'll be awaiting the specs on it, and i think i am going to like it too, but i have grown to dislike abit's lack of concern for the consumers lately. i haven't had any issues, but on their forum, it seems that many questions and concerns get ignored by abit's staff. i will be hesitant to give them my money this time around.....

we'll see in due time........thanks for the llinky's too...;)

I have had no stability problems with my NF7-S, and I have never heard of people with a lot of instability problems, unless they were trying insane speeds.

My top 5 overclocking boards:

1. Abit NF7-S Revision 2
2. Epox 8RDA+
3. Asus A7N8X
4. Chaintech Zenith
5. Epox 8RDA3+

very interesting!!! I would say abit nf7-s as of 7-19-03, but the 8rda+ rev 2.1 looks like a strong contender for those who don't need sata (adjustable vcc and the VDD can be directly controlled via the BIOS in 2.0 without physical modifications)
