Boy, if anything pisses me off, it's purchasing an AMD 900 Mhz chip with an Asus A7V motherboard...

Not overclocking it...

Putting Arctic Silver grease on it...

Putting on a Alpha 6035 hsf

and STILL running 57-59 degrees celsius under full load and about 49c idle.

Go figure. Anyone got any bright ideas?? Because I don't dare overclock it at these "normal" temps.

case cooling??

does the 6035 come pre assembled i know that all socket a hsf spring`s are built off center and can be installed backwards

what are u using to report the temperature? I found out sandra even sandra pro is way off, my viahardware monitor and motherboard monitor 5 are pretty close.... almost exact..

other then that it can be CASE cooling

As Kat says, case cooling is probably the answer. The PAL6035 is a good hsf, but can't help if the air in your case is too hot. Mine gets up to 59C before the cpu crashes if I switch off my fans and cover the holes - with them on the temp gets down to 45C max (that was my old setup; I'm watercooled now). Try adding a couple of low-cfm 120mm fans, it'll still be quiet but the extra airflow ought to help your temps tremendously :-)
