How to get cap off K6 2-500 ??

How if possible to take the cap off my K6 2-500?
To get to core for a lill better cooling.

Or should I ?

I was trying with a exacto knife but it didn't seem to be doing any good so I stopped befor I cracked the chip, my only one, the Wife would kill me, :-o

WAIT !!!!!!!!! I tried that one with a burned out 333. The chip cracked in half, and what I saw was a small core the same size as the duron/tbird. I don't think there is any way of doing it without cracking the whole thing. Maybe the cover is a type of partial heatsink.

the k62 is not a cyrix (spits!!!! repeatedly) thank god !!! the cap comes off a k62 or k63 with patience and a good stanley knife
ok m8 here is a method statement for u from a dude who has de-capped a shedload of these suckers
get a nice piece of high density foam about 10mm thick and around the same size as your k62 and place the cpu pin down onto it then pick up the foam and cpu ( the foam is there to help protect the pins from damage ) in one of your hands and a stanley or good quality craft knife in the other then starting from the middle of one of the caps edges ( the glue that holds the cap in place is mainly at the corners ) work the tip of the blade in to the join between the cap and the cpu itself keep working around and around all of the caps edges until u can get the knife blade in a few mm and go round again several times after a while u will feel that u have one side thats looser than the others and u should be able to get the blade in deeper at this point
but do not go any deeper than about 5mm to 7mm with the blade ( or u may damage the cpu !!!!!!! ) then work the knife around the edges of the cpu again until u can get into the corners of the cap with the knife blade find the corner that moves the most easily and insert the knife blade in about 10mm to 15mm at that point on a diagonal with the centre of the cpu and gently twist the knife blade several times ( BE CAREFULL CAUSE THIS IS WERE MOST PEOPLE LOSE PATIENCE AND CRACK THE CPU !!! )
repeat this at all of the corners and the cpu's cap will come off !!!! leaving u with a nice naked little cpu with which to play
