Hey, i'm building this system on paper, and i'm only looking for a moderate OC. I'd like to, if the cpu allows, hit 3.2 on a p4 2.4c, that is a 266 FSB at a 5:4 ratio. That gives me about 213 mhz. Or, if i went 1:1, i would need 266 capable mem. Does anyone have any suggestions for 2x 512 dimms that will handle either 213 or 266 with stability.....i see so many different kinds, and so many people say its crap or its great, i just cant decide.
some help would be bomb, thnx in advance

also, what exactly is the difference between the p4c800 and the p4p800 ? that is, what is the diff between the springdale 865pe chipset and the canterwood 875p .... both seem to support the same bus speeds....cant find the difference

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS.
you are not going to find memory that will hit 532(266x2)...but pc3200 should hit 213 (426).
yet your timmings may be slower then you'd like.
sooooooo, I would try some pc3700 from buffalo...
it won't cost you an arm and a leg, and you'll have great timmings and hopfuly low voltage.
buffalo also makes some great pc3200 if you must save money.
it too should do well.
corsair xms3500 would be my other choice that will do well.
good luck

Just about any good quality PC3500 RAM will handle 266 FSB using the 5:4 ratio.
The Asus P4C800 is the Canterwood (i875) chipset. The difference between that and the Springdale (i865) is mostly the quality of the chips used. I think the i875 officially supports PAT too.
