I have my second hard drive partition into (D,E) 2 NTFS parttitions and want to (1) either combine them back to 1 and make a small partiton for linux or (2) jsut resize my D partition smaller because I dont need 16Gigs for linux. But every time i ttry it fails to do either. After I appl,y the settings it says it needs to restart. It restarts and I get the Win2k splash screen then it goes to the partitions magic splash screen where it says its doing its job then a few seconds later it flashes and another partion magic splash screen appears saying its completed and it reboots. after it reboots nothing has changed with the drives.......any suggestions?
D=primary
E=logical
neither of them has the OS on it jsut file storage.....

Are you using PM8.0 with the latest 8.00-8.01 update installed? If you don't have the 8.01 update installed, you can get the english version of the patch from PowerQuest here...

I had a few problems with it myself, after wrestling with it for a bit i gave acronis partition expert (http://www.acronis.com/products/partitionexpert/) a try and i must say it worked like a charm.

I've lost all my data on a 40 gig drive 3 times to that evil, evil program. If you have the space, move all your stuff off that drive and partition with Windows.
