should I try and use some of this silicone compound on the heat sink instead of the pink square crap that was on the heat sink when I bought it ???

The pink square you refered to is conductive tape. My Artic Win Cooler came with some. I ran my processor for awhile and decided to use the thermal grease instead. The grease made it run almost 7 degrees cooler than the tape. So it couldn't hurt to try it. Also, I am not familiar with the heatsink you are using, but I would recommend one with a copper plate on bottom of the aluminum heatsink, with a good fan. Hope this helps you.

how much of that silicon do you use , just a drop and smear it until it just feels greasy ??? or more then that !!

I used enough so that there was a thin coat on the die. Didn't take much. The coat was thick enough though that it wasn't transparent. Plus, when you set the heat sink, the extra will be smushed out.(real technical term there) I just wouldn't use too much, or your processor will be a real mess next time you look at it.

To get it cooler, loose the super orb. I had a super orb destroy the die on one of my CPUs. You can get it so much cooler with a better hsf.
