Hey,

well i have a slot a athlon on the motherboard mentioned above, as of right now i have the athlon 55mhz running @ 611mhz, well i can get it up taht far but, when i set teh FSB above 111, the sys wont boot, I mean the monitor wont come on and from the sound of it..windows isnt loading, and i have to disable 4 way protection thingy otherwise i cant overclock at all, anyway if anybody has had any experience with this motherboard or knows any way to get around this please let me know cause i would like to clock it even faster since i have a dual cooling fan made for a 900mhz slot a athlon,
my full sys specs:
192 meg ram
20gig WD harddrive
athlon 550 @ 611 (duh)
40x toshiba cd rom
voodoo3 2000 PCI that i overclock everyonce in awhile
sound blaster built in card ( i gota get a new one )

also what is the fastest slot A athlon classic athlon that is out?
cause the motherboard will support any slot a athlon classic at any speed, just as long it is slot a classic, i can only upgrade to 700mhz with the T-bird version, well thats what soyo tech support told me, well a guy witha freaky accent did anyway lol

You need a Goldfingers device, the KX-133 chipset isn't stable much higher than 109 or so. ( I had the same board). As far as teh fastest slot A I have seen is 1 GHZ, Tigerdirect.com has them for about 2 bills or so. The Goldfingers device will cost you about 45 bucks or so, and don't forget to get a program that will let you adjust the cache speed, on the slot a classic the cache is only good to 350 mhz or so. So anything above 700 MHZ you are going to have to adjust the divider on it. (900 you will need to do it again)
Hope that helps a little, good luck!! :-)

Just for interest, here's an article at Tom's Hardware explaining how the goldfingers device works: http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/99q4/991113/index.html

It is for slot A, not socket A as you can see - as for where you can buy it, I'm not sure about America - here's just a couple, there may be better places (I know leufken has a good rep though): http://www.leufkentechnologies.com/page6.html
