Hi everybody,

I was wondering if I want to have 3 monitor plug in into 1 computer is possible. I know we could have 2 monitor for sure but is it possible to have more?

Thank you very much

You can hook up two monitors to most modern video cards (I don't know about the low end cards though). In addition, you can run extra cards in your PCI slots to run even more monitors. I've seen people with up to 9 screens running off the same computer.

The other alternative is to get a Matrox Parhelia video card. Those can run 3 monitors off a single AGP card. Some games even support triple monitor support on this particular card - ie, gives you true panoramic vision rather just stretching the game from one screen across the lot.

wow, That's cool. Does the OS matter for this configuration? I am currently using win2000 pro. would that be a problem?

well I guess, the manufacturer would provide the driver for that anyway.

How's the performance for this setup? is it going to slow down the computer?

Thanks you

I know you get a vga splitter box, 1pc to 8 monitors. they are quite cheap, about $100. just can't remember where to get them

yeah, but doesn't that just reproduce the same image over multiple monitors?

I don't see why Win2k would be a problem. XP would probably be slightly better because of its more robust driver database and compatibility engine.

What Method said.
I had 3 monitors running off a radeon 7500 that had a VGA out,DVI out and a TV out. I put a DVItoVGA adapter on and added another PCI VID card and had my three monitors running as extended desktops. Let me say that Geforce AGP cards don't like to be combined with PCI cards, I had to buy the Radeon for that reason.

Good luck man, it sure looks cool with multiple monitors....post picks if you get it up and running.

Some Matrox cards have mulitple monitors. The Parahelia has 3 monitors. There's one with 4 and I think one with 5.

Parhelia has 3
Parhelia Medical has 4
P750 has 3
P750 Medical has 4
G450 Medical has 4
G200 Medical has 4

Since they all come in AGP or PCI(PCI-X and PCI-Express) you could put them side by side up to however many displays the PCI and AGP slots would allow.
