With two duron 750s I have had this same problem.
At any speed below 900MHz (w/ 100MHz bus) prime95 runs with no problem. However, once I get up to 900 or higher, it gives me a hardware error. With my first CPU I had a Chrome Orb (and it ran really damn hot and then cracked it) it did it, and now with my new one I have a so called new vantec (much cooler now:) but with both CPUs the same problem, any ideas why? I would think it was my ram if I were OCing the FSB, but i'm not...
My system seems perfectly stable over 900MHz except for this one problem. Of course, I want to run Prime95 so that I can stress the heck out of it and find out if I really am stable:-D
prime95 crashes on mine too, but my system is stable as a rock, i think it must be prime95's problem cos my system works fine looping UT 24/7 for a week, and if mine can do that its stable enough for me! if the system is stable anyway then why stress it, as long as it stable enough for what you want to do on it and i feel that if my system can run seti 24/7 and UT 24/7 then prime95 crashing doesnt matter

As I understand it, if Prime95 crashes then the system isn't 100% stable. Either up the voltage a notch or back off a notch on the overclock.
Sleddog’s right. If your system can’t run Prime for a few days, it’s not stable.

is there anything else that I can use to stress it out? preferably something that runs from the desktop (e.g. not a full screen game) so I can see what my temps are
Is there anything I can do?
There is a program called CPUBurn. If I remember correctly, I got it from an article on the front. It runs in a DOS box, and there is no trouble monitoring your temps.

Your system is *NOT* 100% stable. If it's fine for what you use it for, then the more power to you. BUT, if you try to compress something to MPEG4, for example, it will cause errors to develop. I would not be satisfied with a system that was not 100% stable, just cause you can never know when something will fail on you. Not a 100% reassuring thought.
I had the same prob when I first reached 1100, I upped the V's by .25, and it has been running without any probs whatsoever.

I tried upping the voltage to no avail:(
however, I was able to take prime95 through the self tests @ 850, and now am running @896 w/ 8x112 1.70 v
