I'm not sure how to oc this pc, you may have to give more details, ie Motherboard make.
also how much memory does it have, if it a small amount then it could acount for it being so slow. I had a K6-2 500 before I got My Duron 800 and that wasn't too bad as I had 128Mb of Memory with 17 Gig UDMA66 Hard Drive.

The K6-3 550Mhz is a Super Socket 7 based chip and it will not OC (as far as I know) much futher than 550Mhz. I don't know of any Chips faster than 550Mhz on a Super Socket 7 Motherboard, unless anyone can tell me of any... I would suggest having 128Mb Memory with a decent speed and sized Hard Drive at least UDMA66.

if then it's too slow it might be worth taking it back and getting a refund and get a computer with a better spec (IE Duron/Athlon/Thunderbird), well that's my opinion.

I hope this helps

First of all, that is a "laptop" isn't it? Packard Bells weren't know for thier ability to overclock before they were bought out by NEC, and now with thier new position as NIC's entry level consumer line, I wouldn't think they'd be any better. Especially with the limited availabilty of them (they're not sold in the states). Also I believe that the CPU installed in them is the K6-2, also not known for it's overclocking.
Let's see now,........laptop, Packard Bell, K6-2. That's three strikes against you, sorry, doesn't look too good.
Good Luck.
