On an Ic7-G, which one would be better for performance

512mb + 256 mb = 768
3 * 256 mb = 768

Pc3500, or pc3200 corsair xms

cheers

um. Why not use pairs so you can get some dual channel action going? I'd think 2 x 256mb would be the fastest of what you've listed.

When you don't use pairs (2 or 4) you don't get the benefits of dual channel so your memory will be slow. 2 x 256mb will most likely give you the absolute best performance but you won't be able to play some of the newer games that would require more than 512mb.

Corsair doesn't recommend any of their PC3200 for the 875/865 chipsets.

Ruh Roh...games require more than 512 mb
well im still addicted to Frozen throne so it's all good...

it shouldn't be much of a problem to get 2 * 256 mb and then another 2* 256 if i needed to right?
