At the moment I’m using a P233MMX and its about to die, so I decided it was about time for an upgrade.

My proposed system:
- AMD Duron 700Mhz, 750Mhz or 800Mhz, (they don’t have any 600 or 650 left)
- 256Mb 133MHZ SDRAM
- ABIT KT7A Mobo
- Globalwin GW-802 Midi Tower ATX
- Macron 300Watt ATX PSU
- TaiSol CGK742092 Cooler
- GeForce 2 MX OEM
- Arctic Silver Compound II

Would all of the Durons overclock to the same speed (i.e 1000 or 1100) fairly easily?

I compared prices from Overclockers.co.uk and overclockingstore.co.uk, and here’s what I found:
It was UK£417.65 (for 800) at overclockingstore.co.uk and £400 (for 700) at Overclockers.co.uk.

I can get the 750, Abit KT7A and Global Win FOP 32-1 in a bundle for the same price as the 700, Abit KT7A and Taisol CGK742092. Is there much difference between the Taisol i mentioned and GlobalWin FOP32-1?

Has anyone ever bought from overclockers.co.uk? whats the service like?

Does anyone know of any other cheap english (or irish!) internet stores?

I know there are a lot of questions here, but I don’t want to make a mistake with buying either the wrong things or from the wrong place!

Any other suggestions or thoughts?

Cheers,
Mark

From what I understand, most durons won't go higher than 1000 or 1100, regardless of marked speed. I have a 700 that I pushed to 950 pretty easily - though it was set to the max voltage. From what I have heard the 750 is a particularly bad overclocker. I say get either a 700 or an 800. Otherwise your system looks good, it's a tried-and-true formula for a good, fast PC cheap.
