With many hours of tinkering I have managed to get this system to run at the specs in my sig, 217fsb synch 11.5 multi.
I know it can run at 223@11 but fails prime instantly, though completly stable at 221@11 but not the using the 11.5 multi.
but some would say hey "thats cool", but its not "faster" than what I'm running now.
I know the ceiling of my CPU is just over 2.5GHz@1.93/1.95v
I know that I can run stable my ram @ 221fsb @ 5-2-2 cas 2 with some sort of voltage applied.
I have unsuccessfully tried the L12 mod as far as I know anyway lol it still boots up when using the optimised defaults @266 not 333...
Cooling isnt an issue here, its winter and I'm allways under 35c running prime or whatever 24/7
Ram timings and Vdimm I know that this board overvolts my ram..scary especially when you set in the bios 2.9v I don't like to fry that stuff lol
oh yeah it boots into windows np @ 220fsbwx11.5 but it fails prime instantly or freezes but not bsod.
CPU is a AIUHB 0301 DUT3C 2100+ :D

Can anybody help shed some light on how I could get more outa this system config much appreciated.

Excellent overclocks. You really are doing great. At this point, I would expect your power supply to be the limiting factor. A GeforceFX is a major, major source of power draw. If you really want to break 2.5ghz, you would most likely have to invest in a 500w+ power supply. The reason that it appears to be the limiting factor: oh yeah it boots into windows np @ 220fsbwx11.5 but it fails prime instantly or freezes but not bsod. The memory is not limiting you. You also have a top notch stepping and good cooling. I'm in the same situation as you; I could probably break 2.6ghz with more power, but then, once you reach a point, stuff becomes good enough.

i'm wondering... do you think you would be able to see a noticeable difference between 2.497 and 2.5 ghz?

Heh, a full 3 Mhz! It's simply not worth the parts/effort unless there is more than 100 Mhz increase.

Probably not, but it would depend on the multiplier and the FSB that you have it set at to get 2.5Ghz and 2.497Ghz.

yeah hey thanks for the replies people, I know there aint much different in speeds when there is a 1MHz difference in fsb but there is a difference in overall performance when you drop the multi say fro 11.5 to 11.
My powersupply is considerably better than what I had b4 (powmax 500watt 6100E).
Granted though my vcore at high clocks fluctuates sometimes up to 0.03v when under full load the bios reads wrong with what vcore is selected as in when I select 1.9v vcore I generally get reading in thae bios 1.87+- at this point I haven't noticed any chance in PSU oh yeah my 5v and 12v rails are 5.08v 11.92v respectfully at full load. Fluctuations of vcore by that amount would it couse instability when 1-2Mhz fsb below is stable?

with this system config has anybody hqd simular experiences? i.e. ram, mobo, cpu combo?

no comments eh lol

well an update...I had still some weird instability at 217 even tho prime, 3dmark etc would run perfect... :(
So I decided to try this setting and yahoo 213*12=2.55GHz @1.9v vcore solid as a rock running prime now no problem...this is weird!
So if my cpu can cope with the clock speed but not the FSB is that logical or the PSU mentioned b4 stopping me getting more FSB?
Ram is at 2.8v and it is Mushkin black 3500 ram ffs lol so something is dodgy

Cheers
