i dont know how to overclock durons but i heard duron is really good overclocking cpu
im going to get ABIT motherboard (easy)
but i dont know if duron overclocks like celerons
(switching bus speeds and voltage)
i heard u have to use soldier to unlock the durons is that true?
i really dont want to touch my cpu.

in my work place i made thunderbird 1.2 gig with gorb
but ITS TOO HOT!
will durons get really hot like thunderbirds?
First of all the DURON is not close to the Celeron. The DURON is much closer to the PIII. I've had very good success overclocking both the DURONS and the T-BIRDS. My motherboard of choice at this time is the ASUS A7V, although I understand the A7V133 is better. With the DURON you have the flexibilty of adjusting both the FSB and the multipliers, letting you get much closer to the optimal speeds for the proccessor.
As far as modifing the CPU goes, it's really not that big of a deal. It's just connecting the "dots". You can use several methods, pencil, conductive pen or rear window defogger repair kit (which I use) If you want to undo it, all you have to do is erase it.
Acording to "SiSoft Sandra" my DURON @ 1016 compares to a PIII 933, just under a 1G T-BIRD.

Good luck and remember to watch the temps.

Uhh...it's not a good idea to use Gorbs with Thunderbird/Duron processors at all! I hope you were referring to a Chrome Orb and not a Golden Orb. Even if you were referring to the CHorb, I'd suggest buying something else for that 1.2 GHz. If you want to stick with Thermaltake get the Volcano II or the Super Orb (you'd be better off with the Volcano). CHorbs aren't really designed to handle 1.2 GHz CPUs...
The Duron totally destroys the Celeron. But, unless you are really, really strapped for cash, why not get a 750 MHz Athlon Tbird? They only cost something like $75, and their larger L2 cache helps a lot, especially in games.

#3.)Duron
#4.)Pentium 3
#5.)K6 III
#6.)Celeron
