Just wondering whats the best overclockable S478 mobo for a 1.7g intel cpu.

Well, not sure why you'd want to mess with upgrading the mobo and keep the crappy 1.7 Willamette P-4. But to quote Useless... dude get DDR RAM, then the IS7 from Abit. Make sure you get the best RAM you can afford. Then get a 2.4C CPU as soon as you save up some more coin.

and yes i agree with him. go for some ddr. my poor 1.6 willie is being choked by pc100 SDRAM
