stupid nf7-s question

i just got my nf7-s 2 board and reading through the manual i noted that it has a slot for both an amd and p4 power supply. even though its an amd board, would it be able to run an amd chip with a p4 supply? the reason i asked this was i was looking at psus and i noticed the same exact psu from a company for aobut 40 dollars cheaper for p4s.

it just has a little 4pin 12v connector that intel boards use. any atx psu should work fine. just be sure to get a good one if you want to overclock. sparkle/fortron and antec are good.
