It appears the 9500 np and the 9600 pro are about the same price at Newegg, assuming the softmod attempt on the 9500np fails which will perform better ??
I know the 9500 np is better then the regular 9600 but have not seen a review for 9600 pro so need a lil help :)
Socket eh?

The 9600pro is faster. They're both 4x1 designs, the 9600pro is clocked higher.

Yup, the 9600Pro is faster and has much more ocing capability.
i thought the 9500 was the one that was the faster card in most tests?
256 bit(L-shape) 9500np is faster than 9600 Pro when both overclocked... If you don't believe it there is a long ass thread in ATI section where we proved it because so many argued. Plus, you get the chance to softmod.

trouble is you noticeably ruin the warranty on a 9500np when overclocking because you have to flash it, the 9600pro comes with a overclockable bios, so with warranties, the 9600pro is a far better card

Nope. You don't have to flash the 9500np to overclock it.
