Oh gracious overclocking masters......
I have a Duron 650 on a mobo that has no multiplier adjustments. If I were to close the L1 bridges, how does the computer know what to boot as and what could be done to change it ( beisdes buying a Duron 800 hehe)

I had an Asus A7V with the duron, but fried them both trying to overclock it (the computer shop said I didnt mount the mobo well enough which fried both components), so due to bugetary constraints, I had to go with the cheaper board.

Thanks!

closing the bridges will "unlock" all the multiplier`s alowing the mother board to choose one, if it is set up to do so

i would sugest that before you try again do some research take a look at the main page there are some very good article`s on" how too"

i believe the a7v has dip switches on the board for mulitplier ajustments

If I remember well, on www.tomshardware.com I've read about changing the multiplier by connecting different bridges on other L's (not L1). But this require a lot of work and attention. If you think you can do it...
I'll try to find that article again and insert the link too.
Part 2:
As I promised, here is the link:

Check the thread list, as I posted also a picture with the details of the bridges and combinations (taken from this article)
