I have recieved a AMD K7 computer and I was wondering how to and how much can I overclock it? I had it overclocked from a 350mhz(original configure) to a 400mhz. It does have the ability to go to a 550mhz on the multiplier but after trying to go to 450mhz it makes weird beeping and higher than that won't allow the computer to boot. Is there any way around this? I would like to get it to a 550mhz. It has a 250W power supply, 12 volt Jamicon fan on the processor, 64 MB of RAM which will be 192 MB by friday. Any suggestions?

are you sure its a K7? the current 3200+ is a K7.
MY suggestion is that you might need better cooling. it could be running too hot. what have you gotten the fsb to?

Yeah, you are right its a K6-2. Darn I should have known, I'm kinda a new at some of this stuff. It has 100mhz FSB max
How much would it be for getting more cooling?

So then, I guess there is no other way? Any products that are cheap enough to overclock it?

So, I decided to get a IDE controller card to speed the sucker up. The transfer rate was 33mb/s now its will be 66/s since the HD is only allowed to run at 66/s
