Will Barton work on K7s5a?

Well, there are some who have installed up to the Barton 2500+ and it works, but not to the CPUs full potential.
The K7S5A board canot take full advantage of the higher buss speed and cannot utilize the larger cache memory.
My suggestion would be to look at the T-Bred B processors. They OC well with this board and can outperform the Barton because of the above limitations.
:)

It will support all CPU's that run on the 266 bus. I used the wire mod to get a multiplier of 17 so my Tbed 1700 would run at 2260Mhz on this board.

You can run the barton on the lower bus speed, if you want.

It will not recognise it as a 2600+ it will only show 2128 MHz.

impressive:)

i just got a 1800+ revision c from frys bundle. i've heard these are almost garranteed o/c chips. i'd like to up the multiplier too, do you have a good guide website?

also, did you have to increase the voltage?
