I've got a Athlon XP 2100 and am thinking of unlocking it but I have a Soyo Dragon Plus which only has a max voltage of 1.75. I was wondering how much voltage you need when you up the multiplier?
Is that 2100 a Tbred or Pally?

Hey also has anyone tried unlocking their processor just using the little pieces of wire and a piece of tape to connect the L1 bridges? I've also read somewhere here about L5 bridges or something, any info on that too? Thanks.
I have used wire mods and have blown the bridges to get higher multipliers on Tbreds.

I dont really understand that thing. Am I really supposed to close/insulate all those bridges? I don't think I'm that ballsy.
You can close all the L1's to open up the multipliers. Some people use a led Pencil, its not that hard.

Lead pencil trick DOES NOT work on Palominos - don't try it, you'll probably just fry the thing by making it think it has a 25x multiplier or something. For unlocking the multipliers, you have to first fill the pits on the L1 bridges with non-conductive stuff, I hear that wax crayon works well :p. Then by painting (VERY carefully) over the little gold connectors with conductive silver lacquer or PCB trace repair pen, join the L1's together.
This trick can go horribly wrong if you either join the L1 bridges to eacth other or you short them to ground, so only attempt it if you have a spare processor :p. Better yet, buy a new one, that Pally is probably the biggest space heater ever.
Palominos run with a default voltage of 1.75V, so your motherboard ain't going to help matters - can you upgrade?
Thats right! Its the Tbirds that don't have pits.
But....really.....it is not as hard as L337 M33P makes it out to be:eek:
Most on this site have done it plenty of times....in fact...that is what this site is all about. OVERCLOCKING!
OVERCLOCKING is NOT for the faint of heart and spirit.
