hey i thought that coppand brass were part of the same family because brass has copper in it so why do people use anticorrosen stuff when the matiarals do not corrode but tarnish

can anyone answer that question

I believe the anticorrosion additive is more to prevent the mineral build-up from the water (that's why distilled water is recommended over tap water) and to hopefully curb algae & bacteria growth

When you have a system that consists completely of copper or similar, You do not need anticorosion addives. BUT you do need somethign to stop the gooies from growing, clogging stuff and all that stuff.
A lot of times pumps have metal impellers. Its usually stainless or titanium, or some sort of ceramic(wont corode)
