heard that the new AMD chips that will/are comming out now are going to be locked thats it, nothing you can do.
One site, I am still trying to find it again, says they have seen 4 this way.
The mulitplier pin is removed and there aint nothing you can do.
Maybe AMD is back to their plans again about no more overclocking.
This got them flamed once before. Maybe they don't care any more.
I will try and find that site again. I read it and went everywhere trying to find confirmation (excited) and damn it I can't find where I read it.
i also fell for the same line about 8 months ago and thanks to the seniors here at oc.com my fears were laid to rest ;D
please just ignore this post till I find that site.
And burn it down LOL
I should have book marked it.
I went to about 30 sites trying to find any confirmation and damn it I lost the original.
Will look more this weekend.
Till then please don't flame me.
I have been waiting till the via ddr boards come out before buy and I was worried when I read this.
I just didn't want to buy a chip to be sure I got a good one and not have a board to test it on.

These same rumors have been floating around for the past 10 months. I have confidence that the guys at Overclockers.com will catch wind of this and let everyone know, long before this becomes a major problem. If they do lock the CPUs, I guess we can all go buy a bunch of unlocked CPUs in a frenzy. Until then, rest easy.
I have seen a website with one tbird missing a pin from the first l1 bridge:( but i reinstalled windows yesterday so i forgot to write down the url.

I think the rumor mill is about to have a core breach or something. I remember the last time someone said something about the pins being removed...almost started a riot. ;D
