The epox canterwood is supposed to be good, dont know if they sorted out the low vcore but it has a stock adjustment of vdimm to like 3,2.

p4c800, deluxe, e and so on they all seem to perform great.
same goes for the Ic7 and g.
Upon everything I've read up on my personal choice would be p4c800-e deluxe its a bit on the expensive side though. but that epox vdimm is still very nice hehe.

MaxPC just rated Asus P4C800 best of the best, but many are a close 2nd. My recommendation is Asus or Abit for OCing. Can't go wrong with either.

I've settled on a P4 2.4C for my first 'home built' system.

Here is the info I've collected.
Code:
			Average
Motherboard Speed Samples
Asus P4P800 3,432 10
Abit IS-7 3,384 10
Albatron 3,371 2
MSI 875P 3,354 2
ASUS P4C800 3,347 7
Gigabyte 3,300 2
MSI NEO2- 3,276 1
MSI 865PE 3,252 1
Abit IC7 3,250 16
GA-8IK110 3,188 1
Chaintech 3,000 2
Epox 4PDA 2,958 1
Grand Total 3,314 55

Since this is a first try, I want something with a lot of experienced help available. With this in mind, the ASUS P4P800 and Abit IS-7 look like the best choices. I'm off to find out more about the specifics on these two boards.

Is the Asus a Canterwood or a Springdale. I've heard the Springdales can be as good as the Canter, but it's hit and miss. I'd put my money on the Abit.

Also, I read on the front page that there may be an issue with Prescott Core compatibality issues, check on that if you would upgrade in a few months(hey, some people do it?)

get the epox 4pca3+

you can now do 1.7vcore and 3.3vdimm on the latest bios with memory performance, and has the best unbuffered benchmarks which means it performs better than the asus p4c800 or abit ic7 at the same fsb

website reviews of the 4pca3+ are outdated

it just needs more confirmation
