my KT7A will not POST either when the SDRAM timing setting (bank 0-1 in my case, probably your's too) in BIOS is set to "normal". this is a bug in version WW.
what do u mean i should change the slot i have my ram put in? cause i cant get into the bois to change it to normal if thats what u want me to do
have you tried moving the cmos memory backup battery jumper to discharge, in order to clear everything back to factory defaults? Not sure, but I think holding the reset button for more than 3 seconds may accomplish the same thing.

have you tried different ram? amd's are specific on there ram sometimes
well the comp was working before and ive been trying to get the sound to work cause it would cause my system to lock up but when i reformatted the hd adn everything the comp wouldnt start so i reset the bios with the jumper and now it wont get passed the ram screen for some reason but all i have in there now is the ram the geforce 2 and the processor i unplugged all the drives to see if one of those is causeing the problem and it still doesnt wanna start up
It won't get past POST without a drive of some kind in there. Also, the HDD you use must not be set as a slave only. You should be able to boot with a floppy and a diskette formatted with the system boot files.

i had the hd hooked up before same thing happened comp starts has the screen with the counted ram and the versions of bios or whatever doesnt even get passed that i have the quick start enabled or i did so now eventhough i reset the bios it doesnt even count the ram just says i got 132 or whatever and sits there no detecting drives no making noises nothin just like the comp frooze or something
try setting the ram timing to turbo instead of normal because the bios got a bug so its higher on normal than turbo. my pc wont get past the memory count when set too less than turbo. Also try to set the md strength to low instead of hi!!
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL U PEEPS I CANT GET INTO THE BIOS NO MATTER WHAT I DO. dont mean to yell but its a lil frustraiting

Take everything to bits. Re-assemble slowly and carefully. Put only one single sided dimm in the first slot.
Reset the BIOS using the jumper. Make sure you are only set to 100Mhz operation too.
