Unlocking a T-bird 1200

Ok, I looked all around here and Tom's and I couldn't find out what unlocking the multiplier will do for me and with my Abit KT7A Mobo and T-bird 1200, why would I want to do it.

if you unlock the chip you should get the multiplier up to 12.5, but 12x works great. With your board you should get the bus speed up to 133 or so and will overclock it to 1600 mhz

My board already goes to 12.5 but I cant even touch 133 without it freakin out. About as fast as I can go is 107/33 at 12.5. I tried raising the core voltage from 1.7 but it dont like that either. I wonder if my chip just sucks.

i think the trick to the kt133A is to drop the multiplier and then raise the fsb

Hmmm, ok thanks, I'll give that a try. I'm still waitin for my Alpha HSF to get here. My Orb works ok but not good enuff. Kinda wierd tho...it dont like any voltage over 1.7 and I/O has to be at 3.2 not 3.3.
