View Full Version : safe I/O voltages?
Hello all, I've been lurking around this site for months picking up bits of information here and there and I must say thank you for all the help that you all have been, I am new to overclocking and this box is my first attempt, I've been looking around the web for safe I/O voltage levels for a while and haven't had very good luck. i am currently running it at 3.7 volts and my system appears to be solid and stays cool w/ an idle temp of 25 degrees C and a full load temp of 41 degrees C. I am concerned though that I may do damage to my system at this level in the long run and would appreciate any input that you may have, thanks:)
guess I should have put this in the mobo section sorry, pretty tired:)
you should be fine at that level but if you can run lower you should your ram is what will take a beating at that setting ;D

One should only need to change the I/O as high as 3.70v if they are overclocking on a very high FSB like anything above 140Mhz using RAM that's a bit unwilling
i don't like mine much over 3.6v. it doesn't seem to do much for stability either to go higher. see if you can't drop yours a bit.
hmmmm, well I had to put it up there to get it to stick at a measley 103fsb, if I push my fsb any higher it usually doesn't make it past the splash screen, at 3.6 it will run but has stability issues... damned If I know why I can't get it higher, right now I'm down to 192 megs (had to pull a stick for my old box) 1 128 meg stick of micron pc100 and 1 64 meg stick of kingston, gonna get new ram though in the next few weeks though and stick all this pc100 in my old Gateway OEM 93 450 w/ can't handle anything over pc100 anyway, or at least wouldn't make use of it... thanks for the input folks:)
