I bought a AMD Socket A 1200 with the 200 FSB and a MSI 6330 turbo with the raid setup Motherboard to overclock this chip. I know that I can do it with this board. So what my question is what is a good safe heat range I can run this chip in?? and what is the core voltage for this chip???
Thanks for any help u can give ;o)

try to stay in the low 40s high 30s but the chip will do fine well into the high 50s
after that you will probably start to see frequent lockup
My T-bird 1200 is running at 1333 Vcore1.75 (nominal is 1.50) but You can go also to 1.80 V
My mobo is Abit KT7A.
Sorry!
Nominal is 1.750 and mine is running at 1.775V
Sorry again!!!!
With that investment you may want to get a good cooler. I like alpha pal 6035 try www.2cooltek.com . Your CPU will be happy, and your reward will be measured in extra MHz and stability.
Yo
My system runs between 40 idle and 45C (full load) at 1.85V case open.

Yah I was helping him over MSN Messenger and I told him to come here. He is a n00b btw. He doesnt seem to have contact between the CPU and heatsink, so I told him to get a new heatsink (Maybe a Volcano 7+ since he will probably be upgrading to intel soon), and AS3.
Note: Sorry to dig this up but he contacted me first :/ like today.

LOL that's what I thought. I'm surprised he is still alive today if he still has issues.

Maybe he's waiting patiently for the most apropriate response to his problem. He wants the exact heat calculation.
The wait is over. According to AMD's website Acrobat PDF on Athlon Thermo diode release, the Athlon Thunderbird series is good up to 90c! But, most people say venturing behond 60c greatly threatens the lifespan of the processor.
Hardcore overclockers who like running there processors cool tend to try to keep temperatures below 50c to extend the life of the processor.
