View Full Version : Thank You!
I just wanted to say thank you to all the great members of this board. With the help and advice of a lot of the members of this board I just unlocked my 1ghz Tbird with a conductive pen and installed my new vantec heatsink (does anyone hear a blow dryer!) with some artic silver. I would have had no clue what I was doing with out the help of everyone here. Thanks everyone! I hope to be on my way to 1.2 very soon!

how many tries did it take to unlock the bridges
It took about 3. It got kinda frustrating but I got it with the help of my dad and his super steady hand.

Sounds like a great family. Yeah I told my dad thanks. He actually isn't much of a computer hardware guy but I explained to him what needed to be done and showed him that picture that you posted for me (thanks again) and he took the magnifying glass and his steady hands and got the job done. I knew that I could have done it but my hands shake way too easily and I just trusted him a lot more with it. He also helped me cut some blowholes in the side of my case and mount some dust filters and fan grills so that my two 120mm fans could get plenty of air. I am 19 just like your son and I am home for spring break from college (Penn State University) so I figured I would get his help while I could!
Now I have another question for you. Before I unlocked the chip I was running 1.1ghz (10*110) at default voltages. Now that I have it unlocked I really want to go for 1.2. What would you say would be the best combination of multiplier and fsb and also do I need to up my voltages? I am new at all this so your help is greatly appreciated! Also just so you know I have the new vantec cooler with the delta black label fan (does anyone hear a blow dryer running). Thanks for all the help!
