Its driving me nuts I cant get my t-bird 800 past 850 even though the day before I had it running at 900mhz with out a hitch. But now I cant go past 850 8.5x even with the voltage at 1.85 and still nothing.Im beating my brains out trying to figure out why it wont go past 850 anymore.

redo the L1 bridges with something other then a pencil

if I'm wrong about the pencil then I apologize in advance

make sure your using a good pencil. i read an article about pencils, some only conduct with about 2-4 Ohms while the sanford eagle #2 hb conducts with 121 Ohms. also ive heard of many people using a perspective glass to make sure those L1 bridges are connected.

Im using tracer tape from Plycon http://www.plycon.com/trace.htm and I also used a high powerd magnafying glass to make sure I placed the tracer tape on correctly.

You cannot measure resistance in this fashion since the cross sectional area of the conducate is subjective when merely smudging it across bridges.

Admitedly some pencils are better than others, but conductive pen or micro solder really does outshine all.

I redid the tracer tape on the cpu and still nothing.I tried my duron 800 which I also unlocked using tracer tape and it would go to 850 but no higher and no lower than 800.

Hi, I am new at over clocking. Because I find it hard to get hold of the pencils which expects recommends. So it got me thinking about alternative. I work as an electronic engineer so when I come across some soldering wires, I tough this should be better in conductivity then any pencil lead.
First I try it on a Duron 700, it work straight away, I was happy this is my first OC. Then I try it on my TB 1G and I can now change my clock speed anytime I want.

Hey Nader, try with pencil. If it works, use the tape to hold the grafite on the chip... >(
