Well, the newest from nVidia is the GeforceFX 5900 256mb, and the the newest from ATi is the Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb (generally considered the better of the 2)

As for whats coming...who knows till it gets here

$400 + I think is what they are going for.

According to MaximumPC the FX5900 is the better of the two cards. So if you are looking for one, look in that direction.

Honestly i dont think ive ever read a real hardware review from a magazine that was worth it, heh. 99% of the time, they write their reviews based around who advertises more in their magazine.

i thought Gigabyte cards don't overclock well compared to ATI, Sapphire, Tyan, etc etc

They all use the same core and usually the same memory memory. I dont know where people get this one overclocks better because of the name on the box. Almost all ATI 3rd party manufacturers build right the the reference design. So its about luck of the draw whether you get a good overclocker or a dog.

However Powercolor is the one I would stay away from, they seem a bit low quality in other parts of the card. However the core is going to always have the same potential across all manufacturers.

Well actualy just to correct you, Maximum pc corected themselvs and gave the 9800 pro the props due to nvidias lil cheating dilema. But expect a 9800 revision under the name R360 this summer hey wait its summer know???>>> Its just a o/c version of the 9800 no die shrink(all this is from what i read so might not be true) then the next thing from ati and nvidia comes out dis chrismas or early next year. So its the 10000 pro vs the Gf 6000 or something??

I bet they would go with a new name... go from Radeon to something else... cuz they have about run out of practical numbers on the Radeon series.

The R420 would be a whole new design! I mean its still the R 420... so they may keep the radeon name... because it would be associated with all the great previous ATI products.

However Maybe they can name it the Pwneron.

Just please dont name the the RadeonFX...

Or the Radon or Radonium who knows what they will name it but they have run out of numbers
