View Full Version : AMD PRICE DROPS?
Everyone has been saying that AMD is gonna drop prices this coming week. Will it effect all the prices on the market instantly? Or will we have to wait a couple weeks or so to see it on our end?

Well I see the TB 1Ghz is $20 cheaper than when I bought mine 2 weeks ago. I should have known, I watched it stay steady for a month, then I buy it and the price drops!
Looking on pricewatch today, I see a couple of the durons and thunderbirds dropped a few bucks, but nothing big.
Anyone know what kinda price break it will be?

I bought my TB 800 for 340$ my pc would not work at all. I tryed forever my friends tryed forever. I took it to the shop 2 times got F***ed each time I might add. and they still did not get it to work. About 9 weeks later it works the chip was at 130$ boy was I pissed!
1st time in the shop they said it was bad ram b.s. I just bought new ram oh well I guess i will buy some from you guys. They said it works fine after that. I Got home pluged it in NOTHING THEM MOTHERS!!! After I payed 225$ for them to fix it + waiting 8 days.
I marched it right back up there the next day. they said we will look at it AND charge you more for it. They called the next day oh it needs a new vidoe card. (plus 50$ to look at it). Well when I was there The cops were on there way after i got done telling them what i thought. I guess about 500$ lose was not a lose after all cuz I am learning alot about pc now and not getting ripped off from pc pitstop any more......... Thx i feel better now was holding that for about 20 weeks.

My room mate just bought an ASUS board, I forget which one but it's got a 233fsb and ddr memory. He wants me to help him find a processor, are all the thunderbirds between 1-1.2ghz 233 fsb and are there any other differences or anything I want to be looking for?
Looking at the TBIRDS on www.pricewatch.com, I see both the 266 and the 200 models above 1gig.
So make sure its a 266 if thats what you want, they seem to go for about 20 bucks more.

There is no difference in the core. Without evidence from any reports that these chips are in fact different
I would NOT spend the extra money.
