I can get a duron 700, or a t-bird 650 for the same price. What would be the best way to go for overclocking?

i suggest the tbird, it should have the same oc'ing potential and it has more L2 cache

just my opinion

a tbird clocked at the same speed as an duron is about 100mhz faster because it got more cache. Also it aint worse than duron in oc. so i would have bought the tbird

I bought my Duron due the price, first, and second because there's no Tbirds here under 800mhz and US$400 neither. Man, I hate this...

I think I got a decent price on a T-Bird 750. About $82US. including shipping. Little more than I wanted to spend. Oh well. Only $12 more than the 650 would have cost me. T-bird 650's are sparse, but still available. Can't wait to get my system up and flying. This will be the first I've built myself. Looking forward to fiddling with OC'ing. Thanks all for the input.

I'd say tbird also, but the Duron is a better OC chip, isn't it? As I recall, the "standard" voltage of a tbird is 1.75 while the voltage for a Duron is 1.55. So, on a board like my A7V which is limited (without modification) to 1.85 volts, you can simply bump the Duron a higher percentage than the TB. Makes sense but could me wrong.
