I am looking to go to a new 1.2gig T-Bird Cpu. Is there any reason that I should go with the 200 mhz over the 266 other than the minute price difference? I have an EPOX 8kta3 that I am pretty sure will handle the extra kick. What are your opinions on the new CPUs? These don't require the DDR to they? Thanks!

I have A 1G T-Bird using the AsusA7V Mother board Gefource 2 MX Vedio card and Sound Blaster Live Sound card and a 16X Pioner DVD Rom Drive with a Plexter 12/10/32A and I love it to deth Im just waiting to find some one to overclock it and still keep it stable. But heck it is all I will need I play HalfLife Alot. But heck the price aint bad at all like the darn Intel 4's 1G's.

As far as I know, your board does support the new bus speed. If the price diff is that little, I would say go for it dude.

I just got out the mobo manual and it says 200/266 athlon CPU so I assume the 266mhz 1.2 gig is ok. I assume that DDR on the motherboard and on the memory will not make a difference whether or not I can use this CPU. Does anyone know for sure?
