looking through my best buy ad in today's paper, i see NWN advertised for a mere $19.99, which is the same price as the new expansion.

last fall, i posted a thread about wether i should buy morrowind or NWN, and i ended up getting morrowind, played 10-15 hours of it, and quit. i recently started up again and am having more fun this time since i chose a stronger character, but am only at level 7...anyways, for a morrowind fan, is NWN a good game? i mean, its only $20 and you can't really beat that. whenever i get done with morrowind i could play it, if you guys recommend it that is :D

thoughts?

i enjoyed nwn more than morrowind but i really didnt take the time to get into morrowind either, something ive been meaning to get around to but rpgs do take up quite a bit of time as you know :)

for 20 bucks id say go for it, especially if you played and enjoyed the baldurs gate or icewindale games

I like morrowind a whole lot more than nwn. I've played nwn probably at most 2 hours. I just couldn't get into it. For $20, it's not a bad deal though. I was at Best Buy today and I was thinking of getting the expansion to hopefully make me play the game, but decided not to. I'd rather get Bloodmoon first.

Yeah NWN is worth a try at only $20. I remember your old post asking what to try, too bad you chose Morrowind hehe.

I just got it for 25 is you can get it for 20 its a sweet deal. I recommend a Half-Orc with a 20 strength when starting out, it makes life easier.

NWN is one of the best games to come out of the D&D lines, not the best...one of...yea. Paying only twenty dollars for a great game as such is a blessing from god or something of the sort. The best time to play this game is either online with random people or at a LAN setup, LAN is better but they're both fine. I say buy the nice game, it won't hurt......

I couldn't stand NWN, personally. It just wasn't fun, and the interface isn't the greatest.

i'll probably just pick up bloodmoon when i'm done, since i also still have final fantasy 8 to start, and final fantasy 7 to finish hahah, i always take on too many games at once.

I'd say NWN wasn't worth the price of the cardboard box it was shipped in. I am a HUGE fan of the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale series, and yet found NWN to be extremely disappointing.

Save your money for World of Warcraft or Deus Ex 2.

i didnt like NWN at all...
i dont know why but i installed it, played for 1 day, and at the end of the night before i went to bed, uninstalled it and chucked it into the black abyss that is my collection of games. it just wasnt very intrigueing for me, i couldnt get into it

the masses have spoken: my $20 would be better spent elsewhere, but i may still get it someday (just not right now).

Wow, for $20 you get the game. For $0 you get ons of modules from other players. Some of which are much better then the mod bundled with the game. The multiplayer is really cool and almost limitless.

If you are a fan of RPGs I don't see how you could pass on this one.

I liked NWN better than Morrowind myself, but I agree that it wasn't as good as the Baldur's Gate series. However I did enjoy the expansion more than the original campaign. It was shorter, but the story was more fleshed out like in BG. Still, their original plotline writers seem to have departed and left a bit of a gap.

I liked a few of them, but got bugged that they were not reliably rated and incomplete. ie part I available, but parts 2-5 never come out.

I REALLY liked the "Witch's Wake" campaign that was abandoned by Bioware. That kicked the main campain's boo-tay! Good in-game animations, too.

witch's wake was not abandoned but rather placed on hiatus for work on shadows of undertide, now that the expansions out i wouldnt doubt seeing work being done on WW pt 2

Best RPG I ever played. Only RPG I've been able to hack everything from skins, and wireframes, and levels and mosters, to items, and voices and music... Can't wait to try Knights of the Old Republic from Bioware.
