My first overclock!!

this is it my first overclock. after 3 days of gameing and a couple of burnins I think its time. it took me over 6 months to get all the peices to make this possable.
just a review,

Enermax 350watt 20a on 12v 185watt on 3.3,5v
abit nf7-s v2.0
Barton 2500 aqxea 0323 tpgw Brown (Vantec airflow with articsilver3)

First goal (safe) 11x200 (Barton 3200) use this for a week then the next week start overclocking ram and fiddle with multis (Final goal 2.3-2.5GHz)

Question
How long does prime take to get through stress test? I did a benchmark and it said execution halted after timeing 14? that mean i failed? am i running dangerously now?

Im gona use these clocks for today and fiddle again tomorow ill keep u all posted. and if u have any advice, comments or warnings or if theres anything else i should know, let me know.

Bump up Vcore too 1.7V - 1.75V and Prime should behave itself. At 1.75V you should be good up to 200MHz FSB. You got a good mobo and ram behind you.

The Prime95 Torture Test has no time limit. It will run until you stop it, or it generates an error. Yes, you failed the Prime95 stability test if it halted execution after timing 14. You probably need to increase the CPU voltage just a small amount. Then try running Prime95 again and see if it passes. How long you let it run is up to you, but I would suggest you let it run for a couple of hours at least.

ya i know but if it fails benchmark it ant gona pass torture now is it? does this mean it failed?

you'll get a bit more feedback when it bombs on the torture test. you're only missing the last benchmark test for some strange reason. Just try it and see how long it'll keep going on the torture test.....even run it while you sleep if it's possible.

k ill do that. 1 other question everyone says to use 1to1 ratio on your fsb to ram, I only got 6/6 to 3/3 ratio options in my bios. if i set it to auto will that set it to 1/1?

No, auto will run the memory bus at the stock setting for the memory. You should use 6/6 since that is a 1/1 ratio.

mine also halts in the prime95 benchmark at test 14. Not sure why, I just assumed it finished. Happens at any speed, but the torture test is stable for hours and hours.

prime quick bench PASS

It could proably run at stock votages but i boosted it up for burnin, and wanted to make

totally sure i would reach my 2.2GHz with out any complecations. @2GHz at same votage i got

an error 6 hours into prime last night. I then restarded it and it ran for another 4 hours

with out any problems. also i had it at 6/6 could have been the cause. if i set it to auto

it still matches fsb so ill keep it at that. I doubt its a big problem. ill run prime again

tonight and see if theres still any errors at this speed.I tryed 2,2,2,6 and it wouldn't

boot into windows. which is pritty weird considering its running at default speeds?

Congrats....You now basicly have a XP 3200+ for 20% of the cost. That's a good deal in my book already. :)

Well i guess im one of the lucky ones 11x200 at stock default votages, default ram timings and votages. so now i could probably max out the ram at 11x or 12x and mabie even 12.5x
meaning i should be able to reach 2.5GHz np. my temps now are 40.c. but for now i think im gona leave it at this. this is purly for gameing, i play all my games at 4xanti and 8xano and the differance in speeds from 2500 to 3200 is very little. a lot less processing lagg at 3200 though and is vertually gone so im happy. also i got a lcd with 75hz max refresh and all may games never drop below that so there would be no point in overclocking more and risk damaging my my luguary system.

drop your multi to ten and raise your FSB as high as you can get stable than bring the multi back up until you're not stable anymore.
