I have an 850 duron unlocked a7v asus board, this amd duron 850 will only run up to 922mhz will not overclock further tryed 1gig will not even boot, will run for seconds on 975 but will freeze up, fan is a super orb @5500rpm 128mb ram pc 133. Windows millenium, does anyone have a suggestion for me?

No maybe i did not i only bridged the L-1 s on the chip with lead pencil! which are the multipliers?

The L1 traces are the multiplier controls.

try bumping up your votage, i had the same problem then i maxed out the voltage 1.850 and it booted and ran sweet,(a little warm but sweet) make sure that you have proper cooling when its maxed!!!

Try and get rid of that Sorb cos is no good for cooling well.I would suggest U should get a FOP32 or FOP38.That will do the job nicely.Also try to increase the core voltage.That might help.

using your manual to find the correct setting change the multiplier to 10 and the FSB to 108...youll be running 1080 stable...if getting over the 1.0ghz mark is what you want...you got it!
