my tbird1.1 was running at same temps as chase idle with an fop38 so i just had to turn of the fan and run it with only heatsink to check if it was really true since all ppl says it has to be my monitor that is wrong.

after 10min in windows idle with only mirc running without a fan! it got only 29c while chase was 23c i also tried touching the heatsink and it didnt feel worm at all!!!! Did not take the chance to run any cpu intensive program since it got over 40c loaded with the cpu fan ON, that i can bet will have fried my cpu.

So no i wonder is there anyone else who has these temps on a tbird??? Is there some power saving mode in them????

The strange thing is if i put my duron750 in the same mobo with the same heatsink(fop38) it gets 10c higher than the system temp idle but just a few degrees over when loaded!!

Before i was getting very high temps on my tbird like 39-40c idle and over 50c loaded with a fop32 so i decided to try out cpucool while i was waiting for the fop38 so fired it up but the temp rised so i closed the damn program and then it happened my temps where falling from right under 40s too just a little over chase temp. And still has been like this even when i have formated my hd and everything. I dunno what cpucool did too my cpu but it seems like its permanent. Also i hope it dosent hurt my tbird to get those variations from idle temps too loaded. since it is 20c difference from idle to load.

If u dont believe me i can post some screenshots from my via_hwm.

Running a abitkt7 with 256 cheap 133mhz ram and a tbird 1.1ghz at default voltage.

btw it aint stable at all after i ran cpucool that time and its enough to press the ie button a couple of times and it will raise 10c in just a few sec. So the loaded temp is still pretty high, its just the idle temp that is so damn low.

Weird... did you use your bios temps? They are always right.

yes! it gets just a fex c higher in bios. So i cant be wrong since my duron is right on the same motherboard. also tried resetting heatsink/fan 100 times now but still the same. And as u saw i was running without fan only heatsink and it settled at 30c idle at the end. But under load its just as hot as everyones elses or maybe even hotter. Its like some cooling program is running. Also found out it didnt use so much power anyways its just that on idle uses very little power but on load it uses full power. Even less than my duron on idle atleast after the voltage.

When idle the voltage in viahardware monitor is: 5v=5.03-5.05 but when running prime95 it is: 5v=4.93 and the vcore drops too 1.79 instead of 1.80 and the 12v increases a tiny bit while the 3.3 value is stable on 3.3.

I think its odd too but dont want the temp too be like this since it variates too much from idle to loaded that i think it cant be healthy. Now after just a few min running prime95 it jumped from 27c too 43 in just 2min
