9500 softmodded D3D problem

just setup a new system for my friend
2.4c 533mhz
512 buffalo hynix ram (infinion)
128 9500 infinion

i installed everything properly (WINXP etc) and i tested the 9500 on 3dmark. everything ok. now i softmod. i run 3dmark everything fine no artifacts but then 3dmark just exits itself. so i get ****ed at 3dmark and i run artifact tester from omega on intesnse mode. no artifacts found. iassume that the softmod worked.

now i wanted to get 3dmark bad to see my score. now either NOTHING appears or in the dmeo mode the direct3d sign freezes and the whole comp freezes.

i tried playing CS 1.6 on d3d mode to see if it was directx problem. now when i start CS it freezes on the menu


how do i fix it? is it softmod not working? i tried reinstalling directx no work still

Well, why not try doing those test without softmodding it and see if it works? If it does, then I guess the Softmod does not work.

Did you install DX9a? And yeah do what Basher said. Try and eliminate one possibiity at a time.

ok i tried that. now works. but very bad news is this card sucks. stock speeds is around 270/270. many people reported they can get 330/320 easily. lucky people could get 391/350 i cant even get 280/280 to work fine it crashes in 3dmark!!!

Sounds like the card's 4 extra pixel pipelines are functional, but the card can't take the higher speeds. Try softmodding the card and underclocking it.

just tried 250/250 and 200/200 without luck. i get whole buncha lines and scribbles and it freezes.

any other ideas? or is it i have a crappy card that cant softmod nor overclock at all.

Hey i got also artifacs when softmodding but then i got this prog called rtool. I was playing with the settings a bit and the card works like a charm now.

The infinion memory OC's terribly. Just try and Oc the core right now. Leave the memory at stock, just go core.

And wait.. does the softmod work or not? Im confused by your 2nd post :confused: was that with or without softmod... all these artifacts?

NOBODY GET THOSE SPEEDS on the memory...However, many will do better on the core.

Try leaving your memory around 280 (560DDR), and try upping only the core on the card.....

there are a select few who do get 650(i happened to be 1 of them)but i had to voltmod the memory on the card..


if u want the mod>>>it is ic 6522.u49 install 17kohm fixed resistor on pins 5&7 it brings the voltage to 3.08volts which is quite safe for the card..:cool:
