get away from that sapphire pos... i hate mine and usually they are clocked slower. go with a BBA or Tyan(they run faster speeds)

They run at exactly the same speeds and are built with exactly the same parts.

I would probably get some different RAM... Crucial PC3200 or some Mushkin PC3200 with Winbond chips... but that's just me.

Looks good but make sure you get them from a vendor with a good return policy. I usually get big items from Newegg or Googlegear.

Pixel - the ratios show up as 400/320/266.

400 = 1:1
320 = 5:4
266 = 3:2

This is for a 800fsb cpu, which you have.

I personally don't like Corsair anymore. They might have really good customer service but they're pawning off o/c'd PC3200 as PC3500/PC3700. I just ordered 2 sticks of Twinmos PC3700 with 4.3ns chips. OCZ also uses 4.5ns chips while Corsair is still using 5ns chips.

I bought them from www.MemoryX.net . I haven't gotten them yet. They should be here tomorrow.

I originally bought Twinmos PC3200 from them and I was having some problems with the memory. I tested them with memtest86 and couldn't get them to pass when tested one stick at a time. I called them up and talked to one of the guys there for about 30mins about the problem and he gave me an rma and asked if I wanted replacements or a refund. I got a refund because I've been reading a lot of people were having problems with the CH-5 chips with 875/865 boards. Meanwhile, I've tried Corsairs(what I'm currently using) and Buffalo PC3700. I returned the buffalos because they couldn't do 217fsb (PC3500) stable, which was all I was really after. The only way I can o/c these Corsairs is by using a 5:4 ratio at exactly 250fsb (PC3200) and no more. I will say that I'm running the memory at 2.5-3-2-5 stable. 2-3-2-5 made my system "feel" weird but that went away when I up the CAS to 2.5.

just so you know....the corsair is rated at 2,3,3,7
and 2.5,3,3,6(or 7) should work for you at the speeds your looking for.(at 2.8vdimm)

I'm realy suprised at the results you had with the buffalo.:eek:
what timmings/vdimm did you try?

thanks, and please let me know how the new memory works out for you.

haha its funny kuz im sticking with hyperx just kuz im too lazy to put heat spreaders on the twinmos

Bobby

Mica - While testing all the memory modules I had, I used 3-4-4-8 to get the highest fsb, then lower the timings one by one to get the tightest timings. I used 2.75v and stock vcore (1.525v but I went to 1.6 just to see if that was the problem, it wasn't)

Also, turn off Spread Spectrum and USB legacy support.

Pixel - heat spreaders aren't that important on these chips. Even at 2.75v, they were just warm to the touch. I have a pair of heat spreaders I bought more for the heat sinks that came with them for my video card. I doubt I'll put them on my Twinmos.

Sapphire cards should be fine. As with all manufacturers, there are lemons out there but I've heard more good things about them than bad.

You might consider Mushkin's new PC3500 as it's rated at 433MHz with 2-2-2 timings. Might prove to be a very good overclocker.

the only reason i dislike sapphire is becuz of my card... they stuck non pro ram onto it 275/250 all other 9000pro's are clocked at 275/275. that meh 2 bits though. tyan makes the fastest clocked ati cards last i heard.

o im definatly getting a pro and im pretty sure ill just go with the hyperx its pretty cheap and should work out fine
