View Full Version : 2.4c overclocking adventure
p4 2.4c from malay
geil pc3500 512 mb RAM ultra platinum
FSB = 284
CPU CLOCK = 3404 mhz
SYS BUS = 1138.57
voltage at 1.65, vdimm at 2.8
stock cooling
temps at: 29, 50
i really hope to push out more for this chip :0
cheers

Can't complain about a 1GHz overclock. That's what I got out of mine at 1.6 volts, but it won't go much higher without occasional reboots.

what is the week of your chip?? you should be able to get that with less volts.;)
ic7..

that chip should be decent. try relaxing your timings.
timings are at 2.5, 7, 4,4
kept the voltage but upped the system clock to 285 o-o
new clock speed is 3.423
it looks up at 290, any suggestions?
cheers

thats a nice OC for stock cooling.
you may be able to get a little more FSB with better cooling.
still nice.
(you are trying 3/2 ratio with 190fsb...right?)(sorry for the lame question)
mica
yup 3/2
its unstable at 285 :(
trying to tweak around

try 2.5,4,4,8...I think your using 2.5,4,4,7
it may help...I know the timmings stink, but try anyway.
game settings should be turned off.
mica
game settings are off, and damn i cant run 283 fsb without the voltage setting that high, my temps are getting too high IMO when runnign prime95 o-o
cheers

how stable is 280fsb?
can ram timmings, voltage (for cpu and mem), temps...all be better?
if so, what is so wrong with 280 FSB?
it would still be a nice OC.
mica
im not at 1.6 volts at 285 system clock which shows up at about 289 in wcpuid? current speed is 3.422 currently running prime95 to test
cheers
2.5,4,4,8 thanks mica

good luck...
and I'm glad that the poor timmings helped sofar.
if all goes well, you may want to back off a little for added stability.....say 3 or 5 FSB.
getting a better HSF for yout cpu may help you get back at your current speed with added stability and better temps.
again, good luck

final settings
283 mhz clock
3.401 ghz clock speed...
