It depends. I would suggest going with an SLK800 and seeing what you can de. You will need a good high CFM fan to really utilize the heatsink. If you do not like the performance of the HSF than move on to watercooling. I just made the switch to watercooling and I must say that I love it so far (even though I killed my beloved Abit NF7-S Rev. 2). If you take the proper percautions, and do not rush into it you will be fine though. I didnt do that and look at the result.

Keep in mind that watercooling is not going to give you very very good temps if you do not do it correctly. A lot of people do not gain that much from switching wo watercooling, since the best that your temperature can get is just above ambient.

In fact air cooling is much more efficient than water cooling since the heat is moving from CPU->heatsink->air. in a watercooling loop it has to go CPU->waterblock->water->radiator->air. The benefit of watercooling is that the radiator has much more surface area to carry the heat away, and water tends to conduct heat better than air does.

Hope this helps in your cooling adventure. If you want you can PM me for more info, or you can go over to the watercooling forum and do some research (do lots and lots of research if you want to go this route).

Good luck man.

Pelt's will definitely drop your temps, lol. Just be very careful with them, sometimes you can have condensation issues that can have very messy results. If you don't decide to go pelts, I would suggest going water. You won't really see much, if any, of a performance increase from the top of the line hs/f, but your ears will thank you for it.
