I have noticed you have a Vapochill, i have just purchased one of these and it has arrived, as i have recently spent £1800quid on hardware i got the following :

VapoChill Premium Edition For AMD Socket A,
Sony DVDR-W Multiformat 4X Write,
Radeon 9800 PRO 256MB,
1GB (2x 512MB) Matched Platinum PC3200 DDR OCZ RAM,
LG Flatron L1811S 18.1" TFT Flatscreen,
Antec TruePower 550W PSU,
Microsoft Wireless Desktop Professional
AthlonXP "Barton" 2500+ CPU,

Basically I got some Questions Regarding the Vapochill, I will be running it alongside the hardware listed above and using an Abit NF7-S V2.0 Motherboard, heres the following questions I must ask:

1) Will The Antec TruePower 550W Be plenty for the vapochill to start up on because the vapochill requires a peak voltage to start up on and it musnt go below this voltage or something, also i have heard of issues with the vapochill and antec psu's should i be wary of these and if so what are they?

2) When setting up the vapochill, Do i need to apply some heat compound on the back of the Athlon chip, or only on the socket and the area inside the socket, by the back i mean not the area with the core because i know you gota put heat compound there, but on the otherside where theres some circuitry?

Ok thanks for your time mate thats it for now!

Youve got too much money:D nice bits youve got there.

The Antecs had some probs on some systems and not on others. I think but am not 100% that it was cured with the Rev2 ChillControl, so have a look and see what yours is. The 550W will be plenty, I have a Chieftec 420W and it powers everything nicely. The 12v reads low(11.13v) in the BIOS and MBM5 on my setup but I have measured with a meter and its spot on, so not sure if its an NF7-S thing or a combination of it and Vapo.

HTC should be applied to the underside if there are surface mount components on the Bartons. The Palominos had them also and required it but the T/Breds dont.

For a more definitive answer on the Antec question it might be wise to do a search on the Vapo forums and if you cant find much then post a question and either Support, FriarTuck or others will come back to you.

Let me know how you get on, probably best PMing me as I dont look here very often, either that or on the Giga forum.

Have fun

Oh BTW make sure you have the evaporator pipe bent exactly right or there is a chance of chipping the core, and use the shim supplied to minimise the risk. If you have an older or broken chip have a few practice goes first. Once you have fitted it a few time it becomes second nature, and you wonder how you ever thought it difficult in the first place.
