Does anyone know of a really small keyboard that can be made to work for a pc? I'm makeing a pc out of a reel-to-reel box and there is some room it it to stash on of those fold-up palm keyboards for just-in-case I need to grab the computer and run someplace with it I don'n need to worry about grabbing the keyboard too.

It doesn't need to be fold up but maybe under 12"X6"X1.5" I don't have exact mesurments yet but I'm in the planning stages on the box right now and not in a rush.

There are no PC options in that size range, except for left-hand-only devices (which cost ALOT). Not even a foldable membrame keyboard would fit in a space that small.

Just tear up a keyboard and rebuild it to be smaller yourself! :D

If anyone is interested I did just find this...

here (http://www.ergo-2000.com/ergo2000/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&CATID=36&Product_ID=841&count=4&Pcount=18)
I just need to take some mesurements and see if it's worth the $100+ price tag. :)

It looks like it has standard keys (or VERY close) Take a ruler to your keyboard and you'll see... and this would only be used sometimes... maybe...

If your interested in that keyboard why not just go wireless and get a gyroscopic mouse and that keyboard for the same price. check out this link a Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051384556941&skuId=4772936&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01060)

OK, didnt need an hour.

Found it! 11.3" wide.

The one I have, I love it, $29.99. (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0130194)

Slightly Larger Variant, $16. (http://store.yahoo.com/directron/wk801.html)

Even an illuminated version, $44.49. (http://store.yahoo.com/extremepcgear/luminkeyboard.html)

Theyre high quality. You get used to their size quickly, I tend to type faster on a smaller keyboard now.

The wireless one is reall cool, no wires for board or mouse = less ports that need to show on my case but it looks like it would be to big to fit under the "lid" that covers where the ree-to-reel controls and spindles are.

looks like it'll work great. mIcro Center is GREAT! My wife used to work there. Anyway... Fushyuguru, I didn't see any dimentions... if it's not to much to ask could you check how big yours is?

Thanks!

I have that same Keyboard that Fushy has and am very pleased with it. I use it for my media box in my living room. I might also suggest the Virtually indistructable Keyboard (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0105288). ITs rubber and I bet you could just roll it up and put it where you need it........They had a bunch of different colors too when I bought my lil guy...

I just figured out my spot is 12"/6.5"/2" plenty of room for that kb!

:)

if you want an idea of what I'm doing... here a pic of the box.
http://home.comcast.net/~ws6fire/compbox1.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~ws6fire/compbox2.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~ws6fire/compbox3.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~ws6fire/compbox4.JPG

I'm not ready to do anything yet but I'll prob be putting two intake fans in the two holes ment for the spindles, (same place for kb storage if need be) and I'm not sure if I want to salvage the buttons and put the cd rom in a fresh hole in the screen or have it pop out the hole where the buttons go...

In another thread I'm trying to get something that wil lay the agp card down but faceside up over the expantion slots.

weponhead, what are you doing up so late, (if you realy are from MD like me)
