DUt3c (or something like that) 1.6v stock.
Has any one changed the L12 to make it a 166FSB
from the 133 on a KT333 mobo?
What were your noticeable differences?
I'm thinking about doing it, but I'm using
a A7V333 that supposrts up to 266 FSB chips.
(latest BIOS)
System Specs:
1700 "B" dU chip - 1.6v
Asus A7V333 rev 2.0
GF4Ti4400
H20 = idle 32C / load 38C
Geil 3200 "Blue"
Core V = 1.80
VDD = 2.8 or 2.9v don't remember what I set it @
NetGear Card
20GB Maxtor
WinXP Pro & SP1
Set to run @ 12x170 most stable.
Mem set to 2-2-2-5
Thanks for any info you could share.

I don't want to sound rude, but I don't really understand what's going on in your head!
You have got an Asus A7V333 with KT333 chipset and now you want to mod the L12 bridge on your CPU to make it run at 166 MHz FSB???
What difference should there be except for the the CPU being detected as a 166 MHz FSB chip! There really won't be any other difference, believe me. ;) If you already run the chip at 170 MHz FSB, everything's fine I guess.
If you think to get a higher FSB by doing the L12 mod, that only works on nforce2 Ultra400 boards. The fact that you can "only" reach 170 MHz FSB is probably due to your northbridge chip that can't take a higher FSB.

He's probably doing it in any attempt to get a higher fsb. It sounds strange, but changing 266mhz default processors in nForce2 based motherboards allowed people to run fsbs in excess of 250mhz, whereas before the mod, they were unable to break 230mhz. Doing the L12 mod will not gain anything on a KT333.

Thanks for your input Celemine.
Yes, "only" 170fsb.
I was thinking this would go more.
But I guess thats would be a mobo section issue.
And with different results appearing, I wasn't sure if
something on the CPU could be done.
Thanks again.

From what I've read about the A7V333, you're lucky to even reach 170mhz. You could try doing a northbridge voltage mod, but getting much more is difficult, simply because of the chipset.

i think 99% of users who did this own epox rda+'s and abit nf7's...

Thanks for the input everyone.
Very Helpful.
Guess I'm in the market for a new mobo. :(

You could always try to increase the northbridge cooling. Perhaps it helps, who knows.

I have made it an active cooling w/ AS3.
But I'm sure I could improve on it.
Thanks,
