I finally upgraded from my genric crap to this:
GEIL 256MB PC-3200 (400MHz) DDR RAM, 6 Layer Ultra Low Noise Shielded PCB, 32x8 Low Density/Unbuffered, Model# GE2563200
Specifications:
Type: 184-pin DDR Memory
Capacity: 256MB
Speed: PC-3200(400MHz)
w/ Heat Spreader
CAS 2.5 6-3-3 2T
does it show potential. At least my ram wont be the weak link of my system.

I think the memory is fine for an AMD setup such as yours. But whether it rocks or not depends on how high u can overclock it and the tightest timings u can get.

I think you made the right move though i would have tried getting at least a 512 stick.

put the vdimm at 2.7-2.9 and try for 6-2-2-2
