POSTing abnormalities

Sometimes when I boot up at a certain FSB it will post, then if I mess around w/ the settings, then go back to that first setting it won't. All BIOS settings are the same. What's going on?

My mobo's max FSB is 229mhz (I know this), but the problem always happens when I'm trying to find out the max FSB for my memory (PC2100). Once it worked at 150mhz, and sometimes it works at 142mhz. But sometimes it dosn't; what's up?

Well, some have told me that the more mem sticks you have, the less of a chance you have to oc higher. Someone correct me if i am wrong, but i think you may have better oc capability if you have only 1 or 2 sticks...

I hope the memory is the problem. 'Cause I'm upgrading my mem and GPU this october. And I know my memory sux anyways.
