View Full Version : 2.3V dangerous at lower temps?
If I get the temps on my TBird below 10C would 2.3V be dangerous? Moving up to 2.1V let me go from 950Mhz to 1.1Ghz with temps hovering around 40C at full load. Any ideas?

well, whether or not 2.3v vcore is dangerous is an entirely different debate from temps....
I would say that your CPU itself is in no immediate danger running at that voltage, if you can keep it that cool. I assume you are using a peltier or are running cooled antifreeze through a waterblock. Your dangers are going to come through other forms - condensation, the CPU getting too cold immediately after turning the PC off, etc.
The only danger to your CPU itself is electromigration, but this is over the long term. I am not a technical expert so I am not going to attempt to explain electromigration, maybe someone else can or has a link? I'd read up on it though, if you plan on keeping your CPU for more than a couple of months.
