All the major players (Corsair, Mushkin, OCZ, Geil, etc.) are pretty close to each other. I would give Mushkin the slight edge though since they've just released OC3500 @ 2:2:2 timings. I don't know of any other RAM that is this aggresively clocked.

Thanks for the reply. I'll start looking at the 3500.

Corsair use to rule the world however like said mushkin, ocz, geil are all putting out very good performers and sometimes they are cheaper.

Just shop around, you really shouldnt be disapointed with any of those choices

Right now, it's kinda confusing. Winbond BH-5 has run it's course. In its place are winbond CH-5 chips and some hynix chips which will both hit about 233-250fsb, but can't seem to handle the fast timings even at 200mhz. We're still waiting on another 'wonder chip.'

As the last poster referred to, Winbond is changing their die on the chips. Thus, the BH-5s are limited. Mushkin's Level 2 line is one of the few left with BH-5's.

Method().Man is right, all the brands are very close to each other in performance but I recommend Samsung for stability. If ur on a budget try Adata, they seem pretty gd for the money. Adata chips available here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Adata.html

Mushkin. They also have kicka$$ service. If you go for Mushkin, and buy from their site, use the coupon code "summerddr" for 10% off. Also, they frequently have daily specials and free weekend shipping. Keep an eye on their homepage for current dealz.

I've never tried Mushkin so it looks like thats what I'm getting. Ive got some XMS right now and it is good stuff but I want to get into the 225 fsb 2,2,2 range. Any Idea where I can get the BH-5 chips? I'll be building a new rig soon and it will be nf-2 based. Havent setteled on a mobo yet. So many too choose from.

Thanks Guys

Getting 225fsb at 2,2,2 is rather unlikely at the moment. Your best bet would be Corsair XMS pc3500, Kingston Hyperx pc3500, or maybe OCZ gold.

All of the major names are very good at the moment. As you can see in my sig, I have some Kingston HyperX PC3500, and I love it. It is rock stable and will take just about any FSB speed I throw at it. For some reason my CPU doesnt like anything over 220Mhz though. Go figure

OCZ and Geil is better for intel rigs since AMD's can not fully utillize the memory bandwidth that they can achieve...

As for Kingston Hyper X...excellent memory...definetly would be my vote...

And Altec...you are not the first one that I have seen have problems running at over 220FSB...with any memory...seems like that might be a MB issue then a CPU issue though...have been catching up on a lot of threads in a lot of different forums I am with...and alot of them have been about that same issue and FSB setting...
