okay... here is the deal... i just got an imap e-mail account and i got it setup thru microsoft outlook. now the problem: i used to just use the e-mail notification in aol im'er but that only supports pop e-mail accounts. what i need is an e-mail notification program that will run without having microsoft outlook open that will tell me when i have e-mail in my pop3 and imap accounts. is there a way to keep a notification program running that comes with microsoft outlook?

i am open to any suggestions, but i prefer things that are free and work in windows. i am not going to linux to just be notified of my e-mail :)

Hi mbentley-
I have a great little free email notification program that can be used with up to eight pop3 accounts, on a schedule of your choice here (http://www.eprompter.com/) , unfortunatley it doestn't support imap email at this time. They do however say that the program will be updated in the first half of 2003 to include imap email accounts. Hehheh, I told you this wouldn't help, but if you can't find what your looking for eprompter may be an option down the road. The GUI isn't much to look at, but it has worked flawlessly for me for a few months and uses almost no system resources.
Good luck
